Anybody can become infected by HIV. Although Slovenia has a relatively low number of HIV infections, it is not an isolated oasis that HIV infections cannot reach. On the contrary, the number of infections is increasing rapidly. In Slovenia, the risk is greatest with unprotected anal sexual intercourse. In general, the risk increases with the number of sexual partners and unprotected sexual encounters.
